CDR DICOM E-Mail Configurations
The following information can help you to configure your system to send and receive
exams using e-mail and CDR DICOM 3.5. We've provided setup details for several
popular e-mail programs, including Outlook, Outlook Express, AOL (versions higher
than 7.0), and Eudora, but any mail program that satisfies the requirements
listed below will be compatible.
To use the e-mail
support feature in CDR DICOM 3.5, you need a MAPI-compliant e-mail program that supports Simple
MAPI and is configured to be the default e-mail program (also called the "default
MAPI client"). For specific setup information, refer to the following list.
- AOL Version 7.0 / AOL Version 8.0
- AOL Version 9.0
- Outlook / Outlook Express
- Netscape
- Eudora
To set AOL versions 7.0

dialog, click on the Association link to select America Online

these same steps to select any e-mail program that supports the Simple MAPI
standard.

or Outlook Express from the drop-down list labeled E-mail or Mail (depending
on your version of Internet Explorer).

changes.
To set Netscape Messenger
4.7 as the default e-mail program (other versions may differ), perform the following
steps:

Messenger's Edit menu.

Newsgroups category and check the option to Use Netscape Messenger from
MAPI-based applications.
- Click OK to save your
changes.

changes.
If you are receiving an
error from Outlook when using CDR's e-mail features, please refer to the following information:
The latest versions of Outlook
(not Outlook Express) are automatically configured as the MAPI client when you
select Outlook as your Internet Explorer e-mail program. However, problems can
arise when other MAPI-compliant e-mail software has been installed on your system.
Here is some information from the Outlook 2000 help file which may help to solve
your problem:
Installing other messaging
software after installing Microsoft Outlook can cause problems. If you see a
message that says that your Mapi32.dll file is corrupt or the wrong version,
you can fix it by running the Fixmapi.exe program in the Microsoft Windows System
Directory. To do this, open Windows Explorer, browse to the Windows folder,
and then click on the System folder. Double click on Fixmapi.exe to run the
program.
